Maineville is your digital front porch, a chance to catch up with neighbors, talk about how business is going, show off pictures of the kids or fulminate about the latest town council decision. This site is a social network with a difference - Maineville isn't organized around some made-up online theme - it's definitely not fonduefans4ever.com. This is about the town you live in, the people you see at the grocery store, the events that affect your life.
If you don't see your town among the 24 we've started with, there's no reason to despair. Get a local group together, tell us you'd like to see your town in Maineville and we'll start working on it. The best way to persuade us you're serious is to post your news, pictures, videos and blogs in the Maineville town nearest you. We'll take the hint.

Are you your town's iHost?
You could be if you are outgoing, involved and enjoy knowing what's going on in your town. An iHost gets the discussion moving -- inviting people to post news and photos and pointing out when that happens, schools, praising good deeds and providing constructive criticism.
IHosts comment on local events they attend, take photos and offer insight into town activities. IHosts are what keep communities alive and growing, and if you are that kind of person, we have the place for you to reach more friends and neighbors than ever before. Right here in Maineville.
If you cook beef until it reaches an internal temp of 160 or higher it kills the e-coli bacteria!
Gixxer- If you've never had e-coli you would say that. I had it in my kidneys when i was about 12, i was in bed for about a month and almost lost a kidney. I wouldn't even take the chance!!!
I'm not saying I would eat meat affected by the recall, I meant my statement more as a great reason not to consume undercooked meat! I am very particular at making sure any red meat I eat has been properly cooked! I cannot imagine having e-coli, that sounds extremely painful.
oh it was horrible!! I know what you mean tho about undercooked meat... yet i love a bloody steak... but hamburgers, chicken and pork have to be cooked 100%... bring me my steak still mooing. Some people may STILL eat the meat tho.... (some peoples children)
I ran to check the beef chuck in my freezer...whew! Not the recalled beef! Do you guys know what E coli is? It is the bacteria that comes out of your butt when you defecate (poop). So if the meat is contaminated, that means someone was not washing their hands when they handled it! Same goes for the tomatoes and spinach a while back! If anyone shook hands with someone that had the E coli on their hands then didn't wash can pass it on too!

Or alternately, and unfortunately, the bacteria could be coming from the cow itself, which only moments before processing and packaging, had fresh poop in it.
See the movie Fast Food Nation. It's not a documentary, but based on facts, and it paints a pretty grim picture of the beef industry.
i couldn't finish that movie Markko--- when they started killing the cows i had to shut it off. I ran from the room crying. My husband was like "ummmmm...." he was pretty disgusted too.
Yes, Astrol, i know what it is all to well. And it's HORRIBLE!
